nonsense test
i guess there is only SO much one litre of caffe mocha ice cream and your FAVOURITE muffin ever can do, even if they're not yet in your stomach. one's safely in the freezer & the other on the table. even if i'd to share the muffins with kester, who bought 3/5 they had in the shop, i bought the remaining 2. but he seems to like it too, so everythings allllll riiiiight. mmmmm, yummyfavchocchipmuffin.

been raining lots lately. can't complain much there. doesn't feel like it's autumn though; gives me that familiar flash of home's weather after a rainy bout.

-

created this ages ago, but couldn't be bothered to put it up. but since i was talking to sherry about music(i think our taste is about similar? heehee whooohooo) i hopped on to her blog and did sherry's test(no connection, really) [and failed.. NOT my fault!!! she's shorter than me! so how can she be 150 cm?? hahaha k forgive the fact i dont really know how tall i am in cm..]

i think my test is too easy, no rubbish about how many earrings i have, or how cute i am(without a doubt, infinitely very cute as well! *tsk sherry) and a lot of general knowledge on me.

hee. don't shy k.
highest gets umn.. my FAV muffin?! :) HAHA, sorry in a muffin mood now.

where has the week gone to?
tues night: potluck
wed night: accumulated stress from the day result in snappy replies, i-hate-the-world feelings and the need to just melt away, leading to wedges+sour cream.

you turn down all offers of going anywhere after wednesday(which isn't much, really, just a girly movie marathon on thursday and friday dinner at sushi sai -which has awesome unagi don *sssiiiiiiigggghhh) in hopes of finishing your part of the assignment.

your wednesday has been spent.. just like that. anzac day.
the day i sprawled on my bed with my laptop and read cases on Virgin.

and a sound that triggered a memory.

the familiar buzz of motorcycle wheels, something i've been really skilled to hear out for.
it's been years(lower secondary) since i've anticipated that buzz.
every single day.

my ears would prick at the slight sound of it, say about 12 in the afternoon or so, and i'd wait till it went faint before i'd scurry out in my PJ's as calmly as possible.

head over to the mailbox-in-the-wall, and pull out letters..

..addressed to me.

back then when internet wasn't that prominent. when house phones were more in use than mobile phones. when i wasn't allowed of the house much. when we'd follow series like Autumn in My Heart and the original Ugly Betty(Yo Soy Betty, La Fea) to the dot. when tuition took up our free time.

but the feeling of receiving letters/parcel still bring about that buzz.
it's this addiction you can't ever get enough of, really.
the sight of a beautiful envelope(not just your plain ol' white/brown one), pages and pages of handwritten stories. the random surprises slipped along with the letters.

beats email anytime.

imagine my glee when i recieved a tramkeychain from siemens in the mail today for completing a short online survey(jonsideburns asked me to do it). heehee a girl's gotta take whatever she can get. SUCH a difference to just bills, bank statements and church announcements.

-

cooping up in your room for days(fine.. almost 2) makes you just feel *BLEARGHH (translation: frustrated, irritated) cos recommendations is no easy task to accomplish. you take what you can get; chat with a coupla' people to release some tension, surf the net, dinnertime tv..

polish it up and forward it for the first round of scrutinization -groupmembers101. *pleeeasse let my work make sense. i'm afraid i run off-topic.

answer a spontaneous invitation to suppah, brave through the slightrain.

and spend 2 hours more than expected catching up.
shit stories, VirgTech, revenge, laughs, 19 minutes, more more more laughs, realisations, constant water refills, hot chocolate+iced chocolate, atmosphere buzz..

gone is that *BLEARGHH feeling for now.
guess i really needed that bout of relaxation. i need more spontaneity.

cos it's on to finishing my homework for next week's classes.

pretty eyed, pirate smile
i found a map to buried treasure
and even if we come home empty handed

        we'll still have our stories
of battle scars, pirate ships and wounded hearts,
broken bones, and all the best of friendships

smell the flowers.
praying for the best. sigh, midsem.
and praying for the family & friends of those involved in the Virginia Tech massacre.

the thing that makes it more real?

-reading this 5 page story Washington Post summarised about the hours during the incident, from the people involved points of view, the housemates, the ones who got out alive. 'that was the desk i chose to die under - washingtonpost.com'

-actually picturing how our reactions may be had it actually happened in our uni's(thank God not), in the classrooms where there wasn't even a window to jump off, no where to run. i can't even begin to imagine. read above link.

-reading Jodi Picoult's newest release - 19 minutes, which revolves around a similar act of violence; shooting in a school . '19 minutes synopsis'

to think that i was half asleep when i first heard the news on tv, that deja-vu feeling when you read it online that something SO drastic happened. left me stunned for awhile. it becomes more real when now, it's not as 'far' as an iraq war, it's something that could have happened in any of the uni's we are in.

and the mornings after everytime your browser opens to yahoo, you see that face looming large, that video publicised by all the 'click here''s, everyone's pretty much updated with everything i suppose.

really gives you something to be thankful about everyday now doesn't it?

adelaide welcomes you.
adelaide, adelaide!
two weeks since wenting(travel buddy) & I left and returned, 7-9th april 2007!

i really couldn't condense my pictures into these limited spots even with these collages, so.. head over to my flickr(slowly k) for more!

*flips 6 page travel journal(only one sided, k!).
brace yourself for.. not purely tourist shots.

-

fri night:

we begin by us almost missing our bus at Spencer St Station >.< but safely we reached adelaide!(shorter-than-your-average legs help the curling-up-in-bus process SO much easier) Upon reaching realising we didn't take down the tel. number + address of our backpacker's. a few texts to yoonie back in msia(why? cos it was 5.30 am ADELAIDE timing) got him to google Backpacker Oz up and get the details for us.

Saturday:

a morning stroll along Wakefield Street brought us to..

a church, blue wide skies(mmm), a carpet & reflection, grapes on a rock.

central market
was on the way to our next destination - the same bus station

bunny on a noose, trying to decide which oldskool spidey comics to get for steppie, brie cheese my love.

bus brought us on an hour plus long ride to Victor Harbor.
first stop, fish&chips lunch(recommended)!

then THE CUTEST DOG EVER SO CUTE OH MY GOSH CANNOT TAHAN TOO CUTE ALREADY IT GETS TWO PICTURES IN THE COLLAGE hee, a seagull having a drink, Wendy's ice-cream, wenting & me (shoes) on the second level of the Horse drawn tram.

brought us to Granite Island, which is rock filled(as you may be able to imply from it's name). seriously. throw in a rusted anchor on the ground, wiiiiiiiiiiiiiide skies, glittering waters, high views, steps.

and who can resist some poser shots after climbing to the.. almost top of the rocks! heh heh.

reaching back to the city for some citysunset lovin'

dinner with kevin&his friend, a tour around UniSA; my heart still remains within the grounds of MelbUni. a city tour filled with intrigued peers into shop windows' and not really looking out for the roads. oh lookie, we're back at the Backpackers already?

Sunday:

Hahndorf(german village) sees very very very quaint shops(just like Ballarat in Melbourne), and 1/2 of the greatest(friendliest) bus drivers ever! parting words in the form of 'ok lah' when we said we'll be able to find our way around and a wave coming from the opposite direction minutes later still brings laughs.

quaint mirror + us, humbugs the delightful sweet shop; everyone who goes in there is bound to go crazy; the colours, the variety! the cutesy shop!, the thinnest chicken ever, some restaurant's host.

headed over to Beerenberg's Strawberry Farm for some strawberry pickin' & a lovin'! red red red, red cars blending with the autumn red leaves. the biggest strawberry ever, a handful of picked(and insect flickin') strawberries, a lonely fallen strawberry.

plonking our asses on grass and stuffing ourselves silly with them berries, when do you NOT have time for retarded faces? a form of consoling oneself; still a teen, still one. till july beckons though, but the other girl? uhm. still a teen at heart? heh

autumn leaves delight. kick, press, fling, swoooosh.

lunching with the germans, 6 sausages(recommended) and mocha..

.. and the sweets we brought back to pile on the sugar to those around us. (if i could mail them, i would)

hopped onto their ONE tram to Glenelg Beach. my highlight of the trip! not counting the fact my battery died on me halfway through, but this place kicks MAJOR ASS.

perfect beachsunset timing! jetty walk; going 'into' the sea!silhouette pictures! simply enjoying THE BEACH. staring out at the sea, the breeze, the calming effect of the surroundings, i love the beach! i love love love Glenelg Beach!

on many occasions, i was left to entertain myself cos this..

..was what she was doing. tsk tsk.

the people we met in sunny adelaide:

Robert ex jockey at Glenelg Beach, Robert 2/2 best bus driver! on the way to Glen Osmond Road, Kevin, Joel, Li Xin, Sabrina. nyum!

coming back to see the beautiful sunrise(like since when did i ever manage to experience sunrise) and going for brekkie!

must include ice cream on top, nothing less.

-

thumbs up! it was awesome.
been some time since i blogged about my holidays huh? gentings, port dickson, what happened to those? hahah.

hellow back.
clearing the new junk from the quite unused hotmail inbox; coming across,
"Friends like me who care enough to highlight your blog and feel your pain and get off my lazy bum and type you all this emo stuff"

today lugging 3Litre milk bottle and grocery to last till my midsem; coming across,
"hey long time no see!"
proceeding to help carry 3Litre milk bottle for me despite protests.
"cute nails" [as opposed to another voluntary comment,"eh, your nails lala wei" :( ]
"do you need any help in carrying it back or not?" even though going opposite directions.

recently, after an email with bucketloadsheartpouringout emotions; coming across,
"jo, i've looked up to you as a sister..... and you know that i'm always here"

not too long ago, something presented months in advance; coming across,
"The 1st most touching is by Jo Ann and Li Qin. Jo Ann made a calendar for me with pictures of our time together and stories about our time together. *sob*. That really made me want to cry."

just some other ways of feeling the joy skips in the park bring in this period of exams/ass.

-

adelaide brings.. the largest strawberry EVER. i love.

we'll dance inside the song
stress.

printer no ink. -__________________________-

just when i have to print out loads and loads and loads and loads and loads.
grr.

actually more sleepy now.

holidays were officially over 3 hours ago.
bed looks pretty inviting.

just realised(noticed) the flowers my uni pals gave me for my birthday last year. dried, they are(haha, i know, what else can they be right). and i realise there are roses there!! very very pretty! :) and some funny stalks which sheds everytime you give 'em a flick.

yummy satay for international students at church on saturday. livin' it big, cause that's how we roll. no one we invited came(exams and the like). Booooo. you missed out on plentiful good satays for dinner(personally, -- 9/1000 of lean mean chicken meat, YUP, ONE THOUSAND SATAY STICKS) and good fellowship! BUT BUT BUT.. up next would be spidermania, don't miss it! AUD10 for (just released spiderman3)tix + food, drinks, companionship hee! tag me k(only available in melb).

phantom tickets leave me with a waaaaay lighter wallet, but this excited tremor. PHANTOM, wei! well, not for months more, but still.. it's PHANTOM, wei! hahah!

ahhh, so good to be typing without a word limit.

-

live it big,
laughters and giggles, whole hearted laughs, bellows, snorts; the whole lot.

joyfulness in your heart, thankfulness, pleasant smiles.
we all have loads to be thankful about, when you sit and think about it.

the very air in which we breathe, as a start.
xoxo.
